A popular recreation spot in sun and snow, Lake Ann Beach in Chanhassen is a favorite spot for outdoor activities in the southwest metro.
Part of the city’s 102-acre Lake Ann Park, this beach features solitude, clean water and undeveloped shores off gently rolling hills.
From early June to mid-August, lifeguards are on duty daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can rent canoes, play volleyball, put their boats in the water, fish off the pier or just relax on the sand.
Also off the beach are picnic and recreation shelters, grill sites and trail access.
The lake is only approved for non-motorized boats, giving the site a peaceful, quiet atmosphere.
In the wintertime, the beach is a popular embarking point for activities such as cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
