Eden Prairie and Minneapolis have the fastest growing rents in the Twin Cities metro based on 2 bedroom units, according to a recent report from Apartment List.
"Twin Cities rents have soared over the last 4 months including a same-unit increase of 1.1 percent between March and April. Across the metro, the average rent for a 2 bedroom is now $1,140, which is 14 percent above the national average of $1,000," said Max Rosett, Apartment List data scientist.
Minneapolis rents increased by 7 percent compared to last year while Eden Prairie's rents went up by 6.1 percent over last year. The median price for a two-bedroom unit in Eden Prairie is $1,270. "St. Paul and Brooklyn Park are the cheapest cities in the Minneapolis metro with average two-bedroom rents of $950 and $910 respectively," Rosett said.
