Believe it or not.

The Chanhassen High School 2018 Homecoming King and Queen are, drum roll please, Adam King and Jordyn Queen.

That’s right.

As Assistant Principal Jim Swearingen put it, “This is NOT a misprint: Homecoming King: Adam King, Homecoming Queen: Jordyn Queen. How about that for a 10th anniversary court!”

King and Queen were crowned at Chanhassen High School’s pep fest Monday. Other members of the 2018 Homecoming Court, are freshmen Austin Anderson and Maddie Perkins; sophomores Josh Clark and Brooke Willer; juniors William Maus and Gabbi Barreiro; and seniors Matthey Boyum and Isabel Joecks, Cade Plath and Leah Nelson, John Ingram and Olivia Flemmer, and Levi Kovic and Brenya McNally.

This year’s homecoming week activities included the annual DECA Powder Puff games Wednesday evening at Storm Stadium. The annual Homecoming Parade will be in downtown Chanhassen this Friday at 4 p.m. It begins at the Chanhassen Elementary School parking lot and proceeds south on Laredo Drive to West 78th Street west to Kerber Boulevard where it heads north and returns to Chanhassen Elementary.

The Homecoming football game against Coon Rapids follows at 7 p.m. Friday at Storm Stadium at Chanhassen High School, 2200 Lyman Boulevard, Chanhassen.

The traditional homecoming dance is 9-11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Chanhassen High School Commons.
