Area schools have ranked in the top 10 of U.S. News and World Reports’ annual best high schools in Minnesota ranking.

Some area schools ranked highly on U.S. News and World Report’s annual Best High Schools in Minnesota list, released April 21.

The top 10 high schools in Minnesota are:

  1. Math and Science Academy in Woodbury (No. 124 nationally)
  2. Nova Classical Academy Upper School in St. Paul (No. 174 nationally)
  3. Eagle Ridge Academy Charter School in Minnetonka (No. 328 nationally)
  4. Eastview Senior High in Apple Valley (No. 374 nationally)
  5. Orono Senior High in Orono (No. 410 nationally)
  6. Minnetonka Senior High School in Minnetonka (No. 431 nationally)
  7. Woodbury Senior High School in Woodbury (No. 609 nationally)
  8. Wayzata High School in Plymouth (No. 614 nationally)
  9. Eagan Senior High in Eagan (No. 617 nationally)
  10. East Ridge High School in Woodbury (No. 718 nationally)

Mound Westonka High School ranked No. 13 in Minnesota (No. 876 nationally), Eden Prairie High School ranked No. 24 (No. 1,731 nationally), Chaska High School ranked No. 30 (No. 1,979 nationally), Chanhassen High School ranked No. 38 (No. 2,411 nationally) and Hopkins High School ranked No. 49 (No. 2,806 nationally).

The publication reviewed more than 24,000 public schools in the U.S. for the 2020 rankings, which is based on data like state tests and graduation rates from the 2017-18 school year.
