Can you beat this? Find out at the 2019 Feb Fest, Feb. 2 at Lake Ann. Last year, Ron Carlson, Mike Lynch and Josh Costello caught these whoppers within the first 15 minutes of the ice fishing contest.

Get out the tip-ups, ice scoops and handwarmers, because it’s time for ice fishing and winter fun.

Feb Fest 2019 is noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2 at Lake Ann, sponsored by the city of Chanhassen. This is its 26th year. The Chanhassen Rotary Club coordinates with the city to drill the ice fishing holes and sponsor the refreshments and food concessions.

This year’s ice fishing contest runs from 1-3 p.m. with $6,000 in prizes donated by local sponsors and businesses. Top prizes include a Kenai Pro Thermal Fish House, Vexilar Underwater Camera, an Eskimo F1 Rocket 8-inch ice auger, a $500 travel voucher and tickets to a dinner and a show at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.

Purchase tickets online at, or at Chanhassen City Hall, 7700 Market Boulevard, on the day of the event, starting at 10:30 a.m. One fishing hole per ticket, with a limit of two tickets for each person fishing. Tickets are $10 each. Prizes will be awarded to the 50 largest fish by weight of any legal species.

Besides fishing, families can enjoy a bonfire, kicksled, fat tire biking demos, snowshoeing, ice skating, a sliding hill, dog sled rides, and a spin on the horse drawn sleigh from noon to 3 p.m. Concessions and beer garden on site. Boy scouts will sell bait and S’mores kits.
