Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story

Waconia High School Performing Arts Center will stage "Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story" on Friday, May 10.

Gary Rue is proud to present some of the original cast members from History Theatre’s IVEY-Award-winning production of “Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Waconia High School Performing Arts Center.

Rue’s solo first set features memorable melodies from three artists who were among the chief beneficiaries of Buddy Holly’s genius: Gene Pitney, Bobby Vee and Crickets’ guitarist Sonny Curtis. Set One will feature a Waconia High School Choir member, Luke Razidlo, singing "That'll Be the Day."

The second set will feature a Nicholas Freeman-led quartet serving up all the Holly hits: "That’ll Be the Day," "Peggy Sue," "Rave On," "Maybe Baby," "Not Fade Away," "Heartbeat," "Everyday," "Words of Love" and "Oh Boy!"

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors 60 and older, and can be purchased at isd110.org/district-departments/performing-arts-facilities under "Performance Calendar & Tickets."

Waconia High School Performing Arts Center is located at 1650 Community Drive, Waconia.
