Carver County Historical Society

The Carver County Historical Society, at 555 West First Street, Waconia.

The Carver County Historical Society is offering history day camps.

The camps are noon-4 p.m. and cost $50 for members and $60 for non-members (except where noted). Space is limited to 12 children and a snack is provided. Call 952-442-4234 to reserve a spot.

  • Arts in Carver County, June 19–23 for those going into grades 3–6.
  • Junior Curator, July 17–21, for those going into grades 3–6.
  • Childhood Favorites, July 24–28, for those going into grades K–2.
  • S.T.E.A.M., June 27-July 1, for those going into grades K-2.
  • A Kids Life, July 11-15: Lake Waconia Regional Park, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. Cost is $120 per camper and includes a camp T-shirt. For children entering grades 3-6. Register through Waconia Parks and Recreation, 952-442-2184. The camp is held in conjunction with Carver County Parks, Carver County Historical Society and Carver County Library.

Community Editor

Mark Olson, the Chaska and Chanhassen community editor who has worked in Carver County for 20 years, makes any excuse to write about local history. In his spare time, Mark enjoys perusing old books, watching blockbusters and taking Midwest road trips.
