Carver County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call of a gun-pointing incident at 9:03 a.m. Sunday at the 7400 block of Chanhassen Road in Chanhassen.

Deputies learned an adult male allegedly pointed a gun at the reporting party and threatened him, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release. Deputies responded and established a secure perimeter while attempting to make contact with the people in the residence.

Initially, deputies were unable to communicate with the residents. SWAT was summoned as a precautionary measure and to utilize its communication technologies, according to the Sheriff’s Office. After communication was established, deputies were able to negotiate a surrender of the suspect and other occupants of the residence. There were no injuries during this incident.

Assisting in this matter was the Eden Prairie Police Department and the Tri-City Swat team. This incident is still under investigation by the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
