Boden Kapke tied a Holy Family Catholic school record with 37 points in a game. Joe Hanel accomplished the feat as well in 2014.

Oh, what a night!

Boden Kapke matched a school record with 37 points, tying Joe Hanel, who accomplished the feat in 2014, in a 70-64 win for Holy Family Catholic at Breck School on Jan. 11.

Hanel would go on to play Division I basketball at DePaul University. Kapke, a junior, has received numerous offers and looks, including to the University of Minnesota.

Judah Land (11), Austin Clifford (seven) and Ian Wagner (seven) were other top scorers for the Fire.

Breck had four players in double figures led by Waziri Lawal.

Holy Family Catholic, winners of four of the last five games, is now 6-6 overall into a Jan. 13 road contest at Mound-Westonka.


A 15-point hole at halftime, allowing 42 first-half points, Chanhassen fell to 1-2 in the Metro West Conference in a 62-45 home loss to Bloomington Jefferson on Jan. 11.

Sophomore Daniel Freitag, a Division I commit, netted 19 points for the Jaguars.

Braden Barger (11), Eli Sweeney (10) and Maxwell Woods (10) were top scorers for the Storm (4-4).

In four losses, Chanhassen has been held to less than 50 points three times with an average of 47.5.

The Storm are at Bloomington Kennedy at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13.


Chaska fell behind by 20 points in the first half, rallying within four points after halftime, eventually dropping a 64-58 decision at Benilde-St. Margaret on Jan. 11.

The Hawks are 0-3 in the Metro West Conference and 1-10 overall.

Cameron Walle led the charge with a career-high 21 points for Chaska.

Brady Nicholson netted 14 followed by Dawson Rief (eight) and Simon Peterson (seven).

Ryan Warren was one of 11 Red Knights to score, leading the team with 19.
