Fourth on Monday at Stillwater Country Club out of 26 teams, Chanhassen moved into the top spot across town at StoneRidge Golf Club in the East Ridge Invitational Tuesday.
Ben Hicks, co-medalist in tough playing conditions, posting a 76 for the Storm, helped the Storm boys golf team win the invitational with a team score of 317.
Mounds View was second in the meet with a score of 322.
The round started with rain followed by a day of strong wind with raw temperatures.
Justin Tanquist added a 77 for Chanhassen with Matt Bimberg and Wiehan Wilson rounding out the team score with an 81 and 83.
Chanhassen plays at Hazeltine National in the Chaska Invitational at 2 p.m. Monday.

The Storm and Jaguars, two of the top five teams in the state of Minnesota, are set to meet for the first time at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Storm Stadium.
Chanhassen got to 3-0, posting its third consecutive road shutout, a 12-0 win at Benilde-St. Margaret Tuesday.
Taylor Manno, Tori Tollefson and Maddie Schwartz hit home runs on three consecutive pitches for the Storm, pushing the lead to 8-0.
Chanhassen jumped on the Red Knights early on, RBI-doubles from Jessica Bren and Schwartz giving them a 2-0 advantage. A line drive from Kali O'Keeffe plated two more runs in the second inning for the four-run lead.
Tollefson led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance with a double, homer, two RBIs and two runs.
Bren was also 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs with Schwartz adding a double to her home run with a two-RBI game.
Julia Gronholz and Gabby Maschka, making their varsity debut, also had a triple and double respectively in final inning at-bats. Mackenzie Pinkerton and Marybeth Olson finished with doubles as well.
Schwartz struck out 10 batters, twice striking out the side, in the win for the Storm. She allowed two hits with one walk over five innings.
Chanhassen is 0-5 all-time against Bloomington Jefferson.
BASEBALL: Benilde-St. Margaret 4, Chanhassen 3
Chanhassen fell to 1-1 in the Metro West Conference Tuesday, falling 4-3 in a walk-off at Benilde-St. Margaret.
The Red Knights, the defending Metro West Conference champions, scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning; an error accounting for one of the runs.
Chanhassen had taken a 3-2 lead, scoring twice in the fifth inning. Carson Hake was 2-for-4 with a RBI, while Drake Weisman also had two hits.
TJ Truso connected on his first home run of the season for the Storm.
Jack Garrison outdueled Virginia Tech recruit Derek Drees, pitching six solid innings in his second start of the season. He allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts in the no-decision.
Chanhassen (1-3) hosts Bloomington Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
