Aldi development

The development would be north of Kohl's and west of McDonald's (not pictured).

A new grocery store, Mexican restaurant and coffee shop may be coming to Chaska.

Concept plans for an Aldi grocery store, a Chipotle restaurant and a Starbucks will be presented to the Chaska Planning Commission during its 7 p.m. Jan. 10 meeting at City Hall. The site for the three buildings would be the southeast corner of Highway 41 and Hazeltine Boulevard, near the Chaska Par 30, McDonald’s and Kohl’s.

The commissioners will vote on recommending the items to the Chaska City Council for formal approval.

The Aldi grocery store will be about 23,200 square feet and have a total of 12-14 employees with six working during peak hours, according to city documents. Across the parking lot Chipotle restaurant will be about 2,300 square feet and have 30-40 employees with 8-10 working during peak hours.

Next door to the Chipotle, a 2,200-square-foot Starbucks would have a drive-thru for customers around its building.
