CarverLink Fiber Manager Randy Lehs used to field calls from people complaining about their Netflix taking too long to buffer. Now, with much of people’s lives being situated remotely online, slow internet speeds impact important daily activities such as education, work and telemedicine.

With the goal of providing better internet access to more people, Carver County’s Board of Commissioners approved a bid from Metronet, a service provider offering fiber-optic internet, TV and phone services, on June 28 for its CarverLink Fiber Network “Connect Up Carver” broadband internet initiative.
