There were many cheers at the Chaska vs. Chanhassen boys basketball game Tuesday night in Chanhassen. (Chaska boys pulled off a 66-56 win.)

But the biggest cheer went through the crowd when students started learning via their phones that Eastern Carver County Schools canceled classes for Wednesday, Feb. 20, due to winter storm warnings.

Students started throwing their hats and coats up in the air, and high-fiving each other across the aisles, reports sports editor Eric Kraushar.

Club Care, Preschool, and ECFE classes are also canceled. So are all before- and after-school activities, athletics, performances, events and classes, including Community Education youth and adult classes, and activities sponsored by outside user groups.
