The Rotary Club of Chaska will be supporting SouthWest Metro Intermediate District’s New Beginnings program with funds generated from its annual gala, according to a press release.

The “Celebrate Chaska” event will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Hazeltine National Golf Club Ballroom for $100 per ticket. To purchase tickets, call 612-210-7871 or visit rotaryclubofchaska.org.

New Beginnings is a pregnant and parenting teen program at SouthWest Metro Intermediate District, where students can pursue their high school education at the Alternative Learning Center (ALC) at SouthWest Metro High School, receive parenting education classes, and have the benefit of on-site child care while they attend school during the day.

The program has been in operation for nearly 40 years, and while approximately only half of teen mothers receive their high school diploma nationwide, 80 percent of New Beginnings students graduate, meeting the Minnesota state graduation rate of traditional students.

Each year, the Chaska Rotary commits the funds raised from the Celebrate Chaska event to directly benefit the needs of Chaska and the closely surrounding community.

In addition to the gala, the Chaska Rotary celebrates service above self through service in the local community and internationally. Mroe info at rotaryclubofchaska.org.
