Cologne Academy students wear pink as a show of support for a teacher undergoing chemotherapy.

Cologne Academy middle school music/band teacher, Helen Suhr, of Chaska was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Oct. 11, her first day of chemotherapy, staff and students surprised her with pink T-shirts and bracelets as a show of support, according to a Cologne Academy press release.

“The hallways were lined as she made an emotional walk towards her classroom,” the release stated.

Suhr has been with Cologne Academy for six years. The pink shirts will be worn each week on her chemo days.
