The Jonathan Association hosts its annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Karen House.

There will be a petting zoo, bouncy houses, pony rides, face painting and food. The events start at 8 a.m. with the 5K Fun Run, Walk or Stroll at the Kindergarten Center parking lot on Village Road.

The kiddie parade starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Kindergarten Center parking lot. At the Karen House, the Tuxedo Band performs at 10 a.m. and Norm the Magician performs at 11:30 a.m.

In the event of bad weather, the Board of Directors will decide if the event is cancelled, according to a press release. Updates will be posted on the Jonathan Association’s website, Facebook and Instagram pages.

The city sponsors its annual fireworks over Lake Jonathan at 10 p.m. McKnight Park (next to Jonathan Elementary School) is one of the best places to watch the event.
