The local band Distant Edge has been rocking its way to first place.

Last month, the band won first place at the River City Days Chaska’s Got Talent Show.

Then on Aug. 9, the band won the Carver County Fair Talent Contest teen division. As a result, the band will now head to the Minnesota State Fair Talent Contest at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Baldwin Park Stage.

The band, which performs original songs, includes: Nolan Litschewski (song writer, lead vocalist and keytar player), Nate Erickson (lead guitarist), Jahmal Fisher (drummer), Aaron Eiden (guitarist), Sam Swanson (pianist) and Kyle Brick (bass guitarist).

The boys are all 14 and will be freshmen at Chaska and Chanhassen high schools this fall.
