Kids can explore a “Universe of Stories” during the 2018 Carver County summer library program beginning on June 1.

The program kicks off with “The Jolly Pops” in concert at the Chanhassen Library at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1.

The Jolly Pops are known for their fun, energetic shows that use humor, movement, and song to promote music appreciation among kids of all ages. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Chanhassen Library.

Register for our online summer reading program at Complete five summer learning activities to win a book. For every book review completed online (or on a “Read, Write, Draw” form) kids will be entered into a raffle of their choosing tickets for fun activities, like the State Fair or Minnesota Twins games.

Throughout the summer, look for other great programs featuring musicians, jugglers, magicians, and other performers. There’s also storytimes providing preschool children with excellent early literacy experiences.

For more details on specific events, watch this column for event descriptions or visit the library’s events calendar online at

Teens can join in the fun by attending teen-centered events, participating in a teen reading program, and by volunteering at their local library.
