This morning a Shakopee woman was killed in a crash on Highway 212 at County Road 51 near Bongards Creameries and St. John’s United Church of Christ in Benton Township.

The 20-year-old driver was in a 2006 Chevrolet HHR traveling north on County Road 51, according to a Minnesota Department of Public Safety report.

The vehicle stopped at a sign, then proceeded through the intersection and was struck by a Mack semi truck traveling west on Highway 212 at approximately 7:45 a.m.

The woman, whose name has not been released, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the semi truck, Michael Duane Mickolichek, 52, of Silver Lake, sustained minor injuries.

The Chevrolet's airbag deployed and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. Mickolichek was wearing a seatbelt.
