Project Engineer Shakopee Public Utilities has an opportunity in the Planning/ Engineering Department for a Project Engineer. This position is responsible for providing engineering, design, and project management for the electric and water systems. Specific responsibilities include: Reviewing engineering specifications, sketches, and supporting documents; overseeing or drafting plans and maps using computer-aided and manual drafting methods; preparing engineering documents; confirming adherence to utility specifications and safety standards, and discussing component design with the planning/engineering director, water and electric superintendents. Managing system construction projects and related activities including project estimates, permitting, scheduling, liaisons with developer, engineers and contractors, and contract administration. Review project work of engineering technicians and ensure system mapping is assigned and completed Ensure completion of work orders and maintain electrical system project documentation filing Requires a degree in electrical engineering with three years of experience and a valid State of Minnesota Professional Engineering license or Engineering in Training Certification. Valid Minnesota driver's license required.
