History
The Eden Prairie News was founded by a group of Eden Prairie residents in 1974. They recognized that Eden Prairie would soon be a fast-growing suburb, and felt the community should have its own newspaper. They sold stock to get it off the ground. After operating the paper for a couple of years, they sold it to Southwest Suburban Publishing, the original name for Southwest Newspapers.
