A sign outside the Fairview Clinic in Eden Prairie points drivers entering a parking lot toward the clinic and pharmacy.

Fairview Clinics are inviting community members to exchange their Halloween candy for a book to support members of the military.

Families can donate their unopened Halloween candy to troops overseas through Nov. 10 by stopping at the Fairview Clinics in Burnsville, Eden Prairie, Prior Lake, Savage and other locations around the state.

"In exchange, Fairview will give a free book to each child who donates his or her candy. Books range from picture books to chapter books so parents and children can choose an age-appropriate book," according to a news release.

"Last year, the program resulted in a sweet haul, with more than 1,200 pounds of candy distributed to troops."
