The former general counsel and secretary of Ecolab has come out of retirement to join Eden Prairie law firm Fafinski Mark & Johnson, the firm announced in a press release.

Jim Seifert served as general counsel for Ecolab from for seven years until he retired in 2017, but he has joined Fafinski Mark & Johnson as a shareholder in its corporate and business practice group. Previously, he served as a Republican state representative for Ramsey County District 57A from 1999-2000 and on the boards of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, Twin Cities PBS and Science Museum of Minnesota.

“My decision to join FMJ was based on the firm’s service-culture, value proposition, and client-focused philosophy,” Seifert said in the release. “This philosophy matches my passion for client service and my ambition to deliver creative solutions to our clients.”

The law firm, which is at 775 Prairie Center Drive, serves local and international clients in areas from agriculture and bankruptcy to litigation and philanthropy.
