Staring Lake Amphitheatre

Residents enjoy a concert at Staring Lake Park Amphitheatre.

Eden Prairie Players will put on seven performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "State Fair" between June 14-23, the theater announced in an email.

Performances are free, but the Players will ask for donations to cover production costs before and after each performance, the email says.

Concessions will be available and attendees are able to bring their own food and drink. Seating is on terraced grass and the email encourages attendees to bring blankets or folding chairs for comfort.

The performances will take place at the Staring Lake Amphitheater, 14800 Pioneer Trail, on the following dates:

  • Friday and Saturday, June 14-15, at 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 16, at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 20-22, at 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 23, 6 p.m.

The play follows the Frake family as they travel from their farm to the annual Iowa State Fair. The play is accompanied by the "magical strains of an Academy Award-winning score and augmented by other titles from the Rodgers and Hammerstein songbook," the email says.
