Candidate forum attendees

Community members filled the Eden Prairie City Council chambers for a candidate forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Hopkins in 2016.

The League of Women Voters of Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Hopkins will host three candidate forums to provide voters with candidate information for Eden Prairie school board, Eden Prairie municipal, and Minnesota House Districts 48A and 48B elections on Nov. 6. All events are free and open to the public.

Minnesota House Districts 48A, 48B

The candidates will answer questions from the public during the three moderated, televised candidate forums, following the nonpartisan, unbiased and impartial format established by the League of Women Voters Minnesota, according to an League of Women Voters news release.

It says the questions will be taken in writing from both the live audience and questions submitted earlier online at lwvmeph.org. After the forum, audience members are invited to meet and greet the candidates in the lobby outside the chambers.

Barb Westmoreland, chair of the candidate forums, said the League of Women Voters Minnetonka/Eden Prairie/Hopkins is a nonpartisan and nonprofit political organization. She said it encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
