Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague is excited to announce expanded same-day services with the opening of Urgent Care on June 1 in the specialty clinic on the medical center’s campus.
Urgent Care is replacing the health system’s Express Care, which is located in Coborn’s grocery store. The same providers and nurses from Express Care in Coborn’s will help staff Urgent Care. Express Care in Coborn’s will be open until June 1.
"We are so pleased to meet the community’s needs for more same-day health care options available weekdays, as well as after hours and on the weekends," said Dr. Martin Herrmann, medical director at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague, in a press release. "Urgent Care allows us to treat more complex conditions, and the location on our medical center campus allows for better access to other services a patient might need, such as our lab and radiology teams."
Urgent Care covers the same services available at Express Care, such as treatment of allergies, bladder infections, ear and eye infections, strep throat and rashes. However, Urgent Care also handles same-day minor medical treatment for back and muscle pain, cuts and minor burns, ear aches, skin conditions, sprains and joint pain, upper respiratory infections and bronchitis. Urgent Care hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Express Care Online will remain available through Mayo Clinic's Patient Online Services portal as an online care option for 14 common conditions for patients ages 18 months through 75 years. For more information, visit mayoclinichealthsystem.org.
