Praha Village is opening for older generations in New Prague.
The community is focused on whole-person wellness that includes a broad range of housing options, as well as programs and activities.
The name Praha Village was selected because Praha is one of the original names of New Prague. Village represents a small community or group of houses, evoking a sense of belonging, according to a press release.
Praha Village includes 23 apartments for independent living, 16 for memory care and 52 for assisted living. In addition, short-term respite care with services is available in a furnished apartment. Residents can enjoy a creative arts room, large community room, a maker’s studio for those who like working with their hands, hair salon/barber shop, fitness center and more.
The community’s philosophy involving memory care is tailored individually to each resident. Trained caregivers work with residents and families to create personalized care plans and services to support the level and type of care needed.
A structured daily program includes exercise, music, art and more. Spiritual support is also available to both residents and families.
Amenities include availability of generated outlets in each bedroom in case of power outages; washers and dryers in each independent and assisted living apartment; a heated parking garage; distinctive way-find lighting in each apartment; innovative use of color and increased fire-safety standards.
Praha Village also offers restaurant-style dining featuring local chef Kris Hunt, and a van dedicated to transporting residents for scheduled shopping and excursions, planned by the activities director.
