The Jordan Police Department responded to the following calls March 13-20. The Independent does not include a comprehensive list of calls to which the department responded. Incidents are included here based on severity, impact on public safety or other factors.

The first half of property taxes are due on Monday, May 17, according to a news release from Scott County. The Scott County Government Center in Shakopee remains closed to the public due to COVID-19, but there are options available to pay taxes, the county said. 

Southern Valley Alliance (SVA) is the recipient of a Minnesota COVID Food Fund Grant from Hunger Solutions Minnesota. With the grant, SVA was able to purchase hygiene supplies and diapers to distribute to victims of domestic violence in Scott and Carver counties.

The second half of property taxes are due on Thursday, Oct. 15, according to a news release from Scott County. The Scott County Government Center in Shakopee remains closed to the public due to COVID-19, but there are options available to pay taxes, the county said. 

The Democratic-Farmer-Labor and Republican parties have announced the locations of their precinct caucuses, where party members can stake out positions, choose delegates for party conventions and otherwise participate in the political process.

The 2019 National 4-H Week was Oct. 6-12 this year, and while there were no events hosted by the Scott County 4-H Chapter, local 4-H youth has been busy year-round exemplifying the theme of National 4-H Week: “Inspire Kids to Do.”
