In Minnesota, most judges are appointed by the governor and Minnesota is one of a few states which lists on the ballot which judges are incumbents.

Since judicial races are nonpartisan, there is little information available about judges and because of that, few of them are ever challenged.

Judicial District 1 covers Carver, Dakota, Goodhue, LeSueur, McLeod, Scott and Sibley counties. There are two options for that position: Marty Judge, a local small business owner of Judge Law Firm in Inver Grove Heights, and Arlene M. Asencio Perkkio, who was unchallenged in 2012.

For more information about judges, please check out the Robing Room: http://www.therobingroom.com/minnesota/ On the left side, choose the county and look under District 1 to read comments about judges.
