A special thank you to the Jordan School District for providing a safe place for evacuees to be from the moment the evacuation was ordered. They not only provided the evacuees with shelter, they arranged for buses, provided a temporary solution for evacuated pets, and allowed members of their staff to assist in the temporary shelter at the high school.
There were also several individuals who stepped up throughout this event. Though many were involved, I want to take a moment to thank some who stood out. Those individuals include Amy Peters and Maria Bahe for serving as translators to our evacuees, Heidi Ulin for her leadership in the care of evacuated pets, and Cara Madsen for helping to arrange volunteers throughout the multi-day event.
The citizens of Valley Green Mobile Home Park have been through a lot in the past several days, and the next few weeks and months will likely be trying for many of these flood victims. Please keep each one of them in your thoughts and let them know we as a community will support them in any way we can.
