Jordan track

Thursday was a busy and mostly successful day for Jordan sports.

The track and field teams dominated its subsection meet while the Hubmen baseball team won its first playoff game of the season. The one downer was that the Jaguars softball team lost to Le Sueur-Henderson in the section playoffs and is now one-loss away from having its season end.

The Jordan track and field teams qualified 32 athletes for next weekend's Section 2A track meet.

The Hubmen team will send 21 to the section meet and the Jaguars 11.

The Hubmen won the subsection title with 261 points. Glencoe-Silver Lake was second at 120.

Jordan's girls track and field team scored 184 points to win the subsection title. Glencoe was second with 161.5 points.


The Jordan baseball team opened the Class 2A, Section 2 playoffs with a 14-0 win against Sibley East at the Mini-Met.

Kyle Hvidsten had a home run and four RBIs in the win. Micheal Lambrecht added three RBIs and Jonathan Huss had three hits and three runs scored.

Lambrecht gave up one hit in four innings of pitching for the win.

Jordan will next play on Tuesday when they host Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at 5 p.m.


The Jaguars lost to Le Sueur-Henderson 8-0 in the second round of the section playoffs and now will play in an elimination game on Saturday.

Le Sueur-Henderson pitcher Kelsey Berndt gave up just three hits in seven innings to beat the Jaguars.

Jordan will now play on noon on Saturday at Caswell Park in an elimination game.
