WAYZATA — Root Salon opened a new location in Wayzata, its third location in the Twin Cities metro, according to a news release from the salon.
The salon had a quiet open in January and is hosted a ribbon cutting on May 8 at 4 p.m.
The owner of Root Salon, Jim Koktavy, has been working in the salon industry for 30 years. Koktavy was drawn to the lake atmosphere when looking for his third location, according to the news release.
“Almost 30 years ago I interviewed at Androlis,” Koktavy said in the news release. “The owner said I was too ambitious for them. I think that was his kind way of saying my blue hair and fingernail polish didn’t fit the Wayzata aesthetic. As I look back, it’s funny. I’ve calmed way down while Wayzata has turned up the volume.”
The salon is located at 701 Lake St. E. The website is rootsalons.com/wayzata. The other two Roots Salon locations are in Linden Hills and St. Paul.
