WAYZATA — Eagle Brook Church, a mobile church with seven campuses, will open at Wayzata High School on March 4.
They will offer weekend services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays; the Rev. Mike Emmert will lead the Wayzata location.
“We want to create a space for you that is engaging and feels safe to explore your faith,” he said. “We want to come alongside people, get to know them, and help them experience God in a new way.”
The church and Wayzata Public Schools entered a multi-year lease for the use of the space in the high school at 4955 Peony Lane N.
Community Education Facilities Manager Sloan Wallgren said the church will be using Auditorium 1 and several classrooms nearby. The school board approved the 2-year lease agreement Nov. 13 in 2017.
Eagle Brook began in White Bear Lake and say they have 22,000 in attendance weekly. They have kids’ ministries during services for children up to 5 years.
The services’ messages, by Senior Pastor Bob Merritt, are broadcast from Lino Lakes. Each campus has its own live music.
Eagle Brook’s other locations include Anoka, Blaine, Lino Lakes, Spring Lake Park, White Bear Lake and Woodbury.
Eagle Ridge has leased school spaces at East Ridge High School before and Coon Rapids High School as well.
