WAYZATA — The popular Boathouses of Lake Minnetonka tour is returning in late June to benefit the Minnetonka Center for the Arts.
The tour will be led by Melinda Nelson and Karen Melvin, authors of book “Boathouses of Lake Minnetonka.” There are two tours scheduled on Saturday, June 29. The first will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a lunch in between, according to a news release from the Minnetonka Center for the Arts.
The two tours will tour inside four boathouses each — each group will see a different four. Those who want to see all eight boathouses that the tour will feature can go on both tours.
This is the second year the Minnetonka Center for the Arts has had a boathouse tour. In 2018, folks toured the lake via boat and were not able to go inside the boathouses. According to Nikki Lindberg of the Minnetonka Center for the Arts, the decision to make the tour a bus tour was so people could go inside the boathouses.
