ORONO — Two homes in Orono were burglarized on April 11 while people were home, the Orono Police Department said.

A burglary was first reported on Hunt Farm Road, with the suspects fleeing on foot, an April 12 crime alert from the city of Minnetonka Beach says. Another home was burglarized on nearby Orchard Park Road and a vehicle was stolen from the property.

Police said items were take from both homes, including a gun from one of the residences. Police also found a car that had been stolen; it was parked near the home on Hunt Farm Road, the crime alert says.

Both homes were unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle that was stolen from the home on Orchard Park Road, police said in a Facebook post on April 12. That vehicle has not been recovered.

Orono police officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit. They apprehended two of the five suspects, police said in the post.

The Orono Police Department urges residents to lock their doors, use alarms and video surveillance and report anything suspicious to the police.
