Donna M. Bisek, age 55, of New Prague, died peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Donna was born on February 26, 1964 in Shakopee to Sylvester and Verena (Seurer) Wacker. She was raised in Savage and graduated from Burnsville High School. She received an Associate Degree from Normandale Community College in special education. Donna married the love of her life, Frank J. Bisek , on September 2, 1988 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Savage. The couple made their home in New Prague, where they raised their four children. Donna operated a daycare in her home for about 20 years and then became a nursing assistant, working in that industry for nine years, most recently at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. She was a consummate caregiver and loved working with veterans and children, especially those with special needs.
Donna was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, particularly in Sunday school and the nursery. She was a natural competitor and loved any sport or game that involved winning! She enjoyed pickleball, but thrived in the competition which the annual family tournament provided in ladder golf and bean bags. Donna was dedicated to her family and her most favorite activity was anything that involved time with them.
Donna is survived by her husband, Frank Bisek of New Prague; children, Sylvia (Evan) Fuller of New Prague, Joshua (Erica) Bisek of New Prague, Samantha (Tyler) Egbert of Prior Lake, Julia Bisek of New Prague; grandchildren, Eloise and Jayden; father, Sylvester Wacker of New Prague; siblings, Robert (Kathy) Wacker of Prior Lake, Jerome (Marilyn) Wacker of Blaine, Roger (Jeanne) Wacker of Heidelberg, JoAnn (Leon) Smith of Savage, Carol (Anthony) Stamson of Savage; brother-in-law, Tom Lannon of Prior Lake; many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Verena (Seurer) Wacker and sister, Mary Lannon.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 10 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Prague with Kenneth Dvorak officiating. Visitation took place Sunday, June 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Bruzek Funeral Home. Burial was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery followed by lunch at the KC Hall.
