Mary R. Stang, age 79, of Savage, entered eternal life on Monday, October 21, at her home.
Mary was born in Trenton, NJ, on December 8, 1939, the daughter of John and Margaret (Simczak) Golinsky. She married Tom Stang on January 20, 1962, in Trenton.
Mary was a founding member of the Savage Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed golfing and doing crafts. She loved her family dearly, especially all her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, Barb (Lance) Walker and Deb Stang; son, Tom, Jr. (Terri) Stang; grandchildren, Adam Walker (fiancée, Samantha), Amanda (Adam) Olson, Megan Walker, Tim (Lenora) Walker, Josh Stang, Jamie Stang; great-grandchildren, Teagen Walker (and one on the way), Liam, Peyton and Grace Olson; sister, Peg (Duke) Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Golinsky; in-laws, Sylas and Barbara Stang; sister, Lois (Bob) Malkowski.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Fairview Hospice, and Savage Senior Living at Fen Pointe, for their compassion and care.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral Home, 1220 3rd Ave. E., Shakopee, 952-445-2755. Visitation also on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 W. 125th St., Savage, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Mary's grandchildren, Adam Walker, Amanda Olson, Megan Walker, Tim Walker, Josh Stang, Jamie Stang. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren, Teagen Walker, Liam Olson, Peyton Olson and Grace Olson. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
