HockeyStop, a skate sharpening and contouring center, opened a new location in Prior Lake May 20.

The company opened its first store at 460 W. 79th St., Chanhassen, in 2016 and it recently expanded into Prior Lake to serve the hockey and figure skating community, according to a news release. The Prior Lake HockeyStop store can be found inside Michael's Cycles off Highway 13 in the same strip mall as Lunds & Byerlys.

HockeyStop also sells hockey accessories like stick tape, wax, mouth guards, neck guards, steels, skate guards and other supplies.

"HockeyStop is excited to join the Prior Lake community and provide the best of the best skate sharpening services to their skaters," said owner and operator Jesse Parker in a statement. "We are a community-focused company and look forward to building strong partnerships with the local associations."
