The Prior Lake Farmers Market opened downtown on Saturday, May 4, with hundreds of visitors, live music and colorful selection of food, flowers and other goods.

The Saturday market sets up on Main Avenue at Dakota Street from 8 a.m. to noon and generally runs through October. It’ll also host a community interfaith blessing the morning of May 18.

“We feel that it is important in these trying times to spread light and love, and what better way to do it than with a community event that brings together people, cultures, and lives,” market organizers wrote on its website.

The market began about 15 years ago and is meant to bring the city high-quality, locally made and grown products, according to the website.
