The Prior Lake Jays are trying to stay in the hunt in Section 3B standings.
Two tough home losses — 14-3 to Chaska June 28 and 12-2 to Chanhassen July 2 — will not help the Jays' cause. But there's still plenty of season left for Prior Lake to make some noise.

The Section 3B playoffs begin Aug. 2. The winner of the Section 3B regular season title gets the automatic bid to the state tournament.
Prior Lake has not made the Class B state tournament since 2009 when the Jays were runner-up to rival Shakopee. It's been a struggle in the postseason for the Jays ever since.
Four teams from Section 3B make the state field. There are 27 teams in Class B in the state with three other sections. For more on the playoff format, go to www.mnbaseball.org.
