The Prior Lake Mudcats earned a pair of wins against Region 3C foes.
The Mudcats rolled to a 12-0 win at Lonsdale May 17 and earned a 2-0 home victory over Union Hill May 26 in Dakota-Rice-Scott League play.
Between those wins, Prior Lake fell 6-5 at Elko May 22 in DRS action.
The Mudcats (4-3 overall) is at New Market June 1 and home to New Prague the next day in league games at 2 p.m. Prior Lake is also home to Shakopee June 5 and Montgomery June 6 in DRS action at 7:30 p.m.
In the win over Union Hill, Luke Weber and Justin Hackett combined on a three-hit shutout. Weber went 7 1/3 innings, fanning seven and allowing three hits, while Hackett worked 1 2/3 scoreless frames.
Corbin Cross finished 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Prior Lake, while Cole Bjorge was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Weber also went 2 for 4 with a run scored.
Against Lonsdale, the Mudcats scored seven runs in the seventh inning to go up 8-0. Weber again got the victory with five shutout innings, allowing three hits and striking out five. Isaac Saad pitched three scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
Weber went 4 for 6 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Greg Faue was 3 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Nolan Rein was 2 for 4 driving in two runs.
Cross, Michael Walerius, Topher Rose and Parker Hafermann each had one RBI. Rose also scored three runs. Johnny Houston went 2 for 6.
In the loss to Elko, the Mudcats trailed 5-1 after two frames and tried to come back. Prior Lake tied the game up at 5-5 with two runs in the seventh, but the Express scored the game-winning run with one out in the ninth.
Ben Morrison took the loss with a complete game, allowing just three earned runs, while fanning eight.
Houston finished 2 for 4 with two RBIs, while Weber was 2 for 2 with two runs scored. Jake Lehrer and Jerad Lehrer each had RBIs.
