The Prior Lake trap shooting team will now turn its attention to the Minnesota High School Clay Target League State Championships.

The Lakers won the Class 8A Conference 3 title after five rounds of shooting, finishing with 59,750.5 points. Buffalo was a close second (59.580.5), followed by Delano (48,459), Sartell (36,184), Nicollet (21,909) and Shakopee (18,248).

Prior Lake had three shooters earn all-state honors following the regular season — Justin Kingery, Tanner Thompson and Tyler Kingery. Those three also qualified for the Minnesota State High School League State Championships May 21 at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.

The MHSCTL Championships are June 10-18 at Alexandria Shooting Park. The Lakers are scheduled to compete June 17.

Meanwhile, Justin Kingery won the Class 8A Conference 3 title with an average of 24.20 targets hit out of 25 after five rounds. Thompson was fourth (23.90), while Tyler Kingery was fifth (23.80).

Caleb Brennan ended up eighth for the Lakers (23.40), followed by Vincent Mosher and Gabe Czajkowski (T10th, 23.20), Blake Rix (T14th, 23.10), Logan Cloos and Alec Peterson (T20th, 22.80) and Jacob Dahl and Wesley Brainard (T23rd, 22.70).

In skeet, Prior Lake finished third in Class 2A Conference 2 with 2,855 points. Wayzata won (3,400.5) and Hastings was second (2,977). Spring Lake Park was fourth (1,967), followed by Montevideo (1,728.5), Sibley East (1,689) and Cherry (398).

Brandon Krivitz, Thompson and Tyler Kingery each made the all-state team for Prior Lake.

Krivitz tied for fourth in the conference standings, hitting 23.20 targets out of 25 after the five rounds. Thompson was seventh (22.5) and Tyler Kingery tied for eighth (22.20).
