SW News Media and its' 8 local newspapers including the Savage Pacer is owned by Big Fish Works. Big Fish Works is a second-generation, family-owned, Minnesota company that has 11 established community newspapers, a successful digital agency and commercial printing operations. Current family ownership of Big Fish Works runs back nearly 50 years.
History
The Savage Pacer newspaper was founded by Southwest Newspapers in 1994 to serve the growing suburb of Savage, which is located on the south bank of the Minnesota River and is named for M.W. Savage, owner and trainer of the renowned race horse Dan Patch.
