Savage resident Chris Shoaff shared the following story and photo about his daughter’s recent hunting experience:
This year my daughter, Allison Shoaff, returned to the woods near Togo, Minn. for the 14th time to go hunting with the family. She started when she was 13 and now she is 27.
Allison in all those years has never had a bullet leave her barrel for one reason or another. This year that changed — Allison shot her first and second deer within five minutes of each other on opening morning using one round for each one. She is very happy to say the least.
The deer were a spike and 6-pointer, which was big enough for her to claim the title of the traveling Deer of the Year trophy.
