On the hunt

“The assassin fly is most unattractive, but they are a fascinating predator,” reports photographer Sue Hecker. “They will patiently wait for ‘dinner’ to come flying by. They are also known as a robber fly, and are about an inch long.”

The Savage Pacer publishes our favorite photos submitted by readers through a (mostly) weekly contest.

To enter our contest, submit your photo, preferably large file sizes, with a little information about them to editor@savagepacer.com. Photos can be of anything that stands out to you — lovely views, interesting wildlife, street scenes around town. We’ll give preference to photos taken in Savage.
