I was disappointed that the Savage City Council voted unanimously to go ahead with the 190-apartment Enclave Edge despite community and city planners concerns. Hopefully, traffic access will be improved prior to beginning the development of this somewhat isolated piece of property (road-wise).
What dismayed me, however, was that the rental prices are expected to start at $1,200 for a studio! How does that "help meet their goals to provide a range of housing" for the community?
That doesn't allow too many lower-income residents to live at this complex. Maybe if you fit a family of three or four into a studio?
Greed is in play here. Of course these rents can be charged because of supply and demand, but the owners don't need to charge such out-of-reach rents for many people.
