Police lights

The Savage Police Department responded to and provided summaries for the following incidents June 10-17. The Savage Pacer does not include a comprehensive list of calls to which the department responded. Crimes are included based on severity, impact on public safety and other factors.

BURGLARY

June 11: A resident in the 14900 block of Ottawa Avenue reported a bag of tools stolen from his open garage during the day while he worked in the backyard. The estimated loss is $1,750.

DWI

June 12: A 21-year-old Eden Prairie man was charged with fifth-degree fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree DWI for operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. Officers say he crashed his vehicle into a wooded area near Connelly Parkway and Boone Avenue.

June 13: A 37-year-old Savage man was arrested in connection with fourth-degree DWI after officers located a vehicle in Trost Park after hours. His blood alcohol content registered at 0.13.

June 15: A 20-year-old Savage man was cited for fourth-degree DWI and careless driving after officers were dispatched to a report of a car running off the road and hitting a tree in the 5300 block of 143rd Street. His BAC registered at 0.09. A 20-year-old passenger was cited for underage liquor consumption.

OBSTRUCTING

June 14: A 19-year-old Bloomington man was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant after officers stopped his vehicle for driving around traffic barricades in the Glendale Road construction area. He was also cited for giving a police officer a false name and driving without a valid license. The vehicle’s passengers were also cited: a 24-year-old Savage man for obstructing the legal process and a 19-year old Bloomington man for underage consumption.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

June 16: A resident in the 6100 block of 132nd Street reported two shots from a BB gun caused approximately $500 in damage to a fence.

THEFT

June 11: A Prior Lake woman reported her wallet and keys were stolen from her purse in the shopping cart at a business in the 14300 block of Highway 13.

June 14: An employee of a business in the 7800 block of Connelly Parkway reported cigarettes and a drink stolen with an approximate value of $185.

June 14: A resident in the 4000 block of 141st Street reported a cell phone was recently stolen from her home.

TRAFFIC CRIMINAL

June 10: A 29-year-old Shakopee man was cited for failing to stop while a school bus’s stop arm was out at Connelly Parkway and Virginia Avenue.
