The Burnsville girls swimming team dropped to 0-6 in South Suburban Conference duals with a 109-76 home loss to Apple Valley Oct. 1.

The Blaze went into the dual after losing 102-79 at Rosemount Sept. 26.

Burnsville's final three SSC duals are home to Farmington Oct. 8, at Shakopee Oct. 15 and at Eagan Oct. 22. All three start at 6 p.m.

Burnsville's 400 freestyle relay team of seniors Kayla Gant and Natalie Thoresen, eighth-grader Anna Tomas and sophomore Ava Piccolino had the team's lone win versus Apple Valley with a time of 4:07.67.

Junior Olivia Caldwell had two runner-up finishes for the Blaze in the 100 freestyle (56.82) and the 100 breaststroke (1:10.91), as did Gant in the 50 freestyle (25.75) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.01).

Other second-place individual finishes for Burnsville went to senior Kiah Christopherson in the 200 individual medley (2:36.28), ninth-grader Grace Affeldt in diving (196.65) and Thoresen in the 500 freestyle (6:06.71)

Against Rosemount, Caldwell won 50 freestyle (25.85), and Affeldt was tops in diving (188.25).

The Blaze also had a 92-85 conference dual loss at Eastivew Sept. 19.

Caldwell won two individual events -— the 100 freestyle (56.19) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.67). Gant was tops in the 50 freestyle (25.76).

Affeldt won diving for Burnsville with 199.95 points.

Gant was also second in the 100 freestyle (57.43). Seventh-grader Lauren Bachmeier was runner-up in the 200 freestyle (2:10.89), as was Christopherson in the 200 individual medley (2:38.40).

Thoresen was runner-up in both the 500 freestyle (6:04.30) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.61).

Eastview won all three relays, going one-two-three in the 400 freestyle relay.
