Amazon is now hiring for more than 1,000 full-time positions at its 820,000-square-foot fulfillment center under construction in Shakopee.
At the facility, Amazon employees will pick, pack and ship small items to customers like books, electronics or consumer goods. Employees will work alongside innovative technologies, including Amazon robotics that will be used on a daily basis to fulfill customer orders.
The company said that in addition to competitive wages, employees are immediately eligible for comprehensive benefits that include health insurance, 401(k) with 50 percent match, bonuses, company stock awards and a network of support to help ensure employees succeed. Hourly employees are eligible for the company’s maternity and paternity leave benefits. The benefits offer up to 20 weeks of paid leave, a flexible Ramp Back Program and our newly invented Leave Share Program that allows employees the ability to share their paid leave with their spouse or partner, the company said.
Amazon also offers employees programs like Career Choice, in which the company will pre-pay 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon. Since the program’s launch, the company said, employees are pursuing degrees in game design and visual communications, nursing, IT programming, and radiology, and others.
