My Place Hotels, a South Dakota-based hotel chain, will break ground this spring on its first Minnesota hotel, which will be built in Shakopee.
The four-story, 63-unit hotel will be located at 3912 12th Avenue East, and is set to open later this year, according to a press release. The groundbreaking ceremony will be held May 15 at 10 a.m.
My Place currently operates 45 hotels across 21 states. By the end of the year, the franchise will have stamped its territory across 27 states as it makes its way through the Midwest.
“My Place’s rapid expansion across the United States is still one of the greatest indications of success on every level,” Terry Kline, executive vice president of franchise development, said in the release. “As we continue to expand throughout the country faster than ever before, we are continually encouraged by the people representing our brand in so many new communities.”
According to the release, My Place locations provide nightly, weekly and monthly rate options. Each hotel room has a kitchen with a cooktop, microwave and refrigerator. Other amenities include on-site laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour convenience store.
The company is also building a hotel in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin and Overland Park, Kansas this spring.
